“I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” -Phil 3: 13-14
Uni/Verse 2024 is happening ! This year we will be gathering together to discover what it means to be Called Higher.
To be called is to know the One who calls, His voice, and His desire for us to be in relationship with Him. God calls us to seek Him first in every season and every moment, from forming new relationships, to studying, to making career choices. Yet when we look at the relationships Jesus cultivates and the choices He makes, it’s often counter cultural. Unafraid, He goes against the grain, doesn’t care for the trends of the world, and openly stands against social norms. But how do we follow in His example in today’s world? What does it look like to pursue God’s calling during the university years and beyond?
Without a doubt choosing to seek God first and follow His calling isn’t easy, in fact taking the high road often increases uncertainty causing our doubts to surface and our anxiety to kick in! But we believe that God provides the tools we need in every season of our lives. U/V2024 will be packed with challenging talks and practical seminars given by those who choose to live with a higher perspective. Together, we will learn what it means to lay down our own desires, comfort zones, and the things of the world in order to seek God’s calling to us at the highest point.
Our hope is for you to leave U/V2024 encouraged and equipped to remain faithful and steadfast to God’s calling to you in a world that is fighting for your attention at every given opportunity. So come and join us as we discover together what it means to be called higher! We can’t wait to see you there!

James So is a ministry worker with COCM, a Human Biology graduate, and an avid rock climber.
When James entered university, he had his own plans and goals. However, during that time, God began to reveal His purpose and values for James’ life. By the time he graduated, James had embraced a new path—one focused on pursuing God’s calling.
Now, he is here in the hope that you, too, will step out in faith and follow whatever God is calling you to do.
